Comparing the Colonies Quest

What to Study?

Part I- 13 Colonies Map
Make sure you know the placement of all 13 colonies on a map and can identify them by region (New England, Middle, Southern)

Part II- Vocabulary
Study words we highlighted on TMVs
(Puritan, town meeting, expel, self-rule, legislature, raw material)

Part III- Pick ONE colony from each of the regions (3 in TOTAL)

New England- Massachusetts or Rhode Island

Middle- New York or Pennsylvania

Southern- Maryland or Georgia


Know all four categories for the colony you have chosen

  1. Why it was founded
  2. Geography AND Climate (one for each)
  3. Jobs available
  4. Who could vote

(Hint- Focus more on differences between the colonies you choose than the similarities.)
